DON”T FORGET YOUR FUNDING FOR DUAL CREDIT CLASSES!!!
When enrolling in dual credit classes, students need to also apply for funding using their Advanced Opportunities accounts. Each student needs to have an enrollment form on file at Vision in order to access their funds. If your child is missing this form, he or she will be informed.
**NEW THIS YEAR in Advanced Opportunities**
Students who have accumulated FIFTEEN dual credits must receive academic advising prior to utilizing more Adv. Opps funds. This advising is achieved through individual student ECAPS (Education Career Action Plans) that were created last spring. Dr. Dowski will work with new students to create these plans, 9th-11th grade. Students were asked to share individual ECAPS with their parents for parents to review. If you have not seen your son’s or daughter’s ECAPS, please ask him or her to share it with you. It holds information regarding academic progress, college progress, career choices, etc.

Last year, Mira, my Bernese Mtn. Dog, began making visits to the school. I am excited that this year, she will continue to make visits. In addition, Mira’s puppy Pema, and her friend, an English Cocker Spaniel, Sunny, are “school dogs” in training. A of the puppies’ adventures towards becoming therapy dogs will be added to my counselor’s website. My goal is that they are fully trained and certified for the 2019-2020 school year. Mira and myself are also in training to bring these services to Vision.
Update: Both puppies have come to their first day of school and enjoyed both student and staff interactions! I am very excited to see what their future holds. They are progressing nicely in their “puppy kindergarten” class learning to sit, down, come, & stay on command.
Please note that parents are always welcomed to call or email me in regards to their students. Parents can also submit a contact form via my website.
