Upcoming Events:
o Envision – Oct 4 & Nov 2: https://www.uidaho.edu/events/envision/register
§ This event is geared towards Seniors (but all grade levels are welcome), and students get to explore campus life and discover our research and learning programs at the U of I.
§ *WE WILL HAVE A BUS* - we are still working out the details, and I will send more info once I have it. Tentatively, we will have room for approximately 50 seniors from the Treasure Valley, and students will need to pay $35 to reserve their spot.
o High School Design Day – Oct 11 (see email attached): https://www.uidaho.edu/caa/highschool-events/hsdd
§ Free event (Dinner included) on campus that includes hands-on design workshops in our campus studios.
§ High school counselors and educators who teach subject matter related to these disciplines are also encouraged to attend.
§ Discounted rooms are available at the Best Western University Inn if rooms are reserved by Sept 10
o Vandal Challenge – Oct 24-26 (see flyer attached)
§ It is a 3 day conference designed to help Latinx high school students pursue higher education.
§ For students who apply and get admitted to the program, their transportation, lodging and meals are covered
§ If students are interested in applying, please have them either email me or [email protected]

§ Students and parents are invited to attend to learn more about the U of I and CAMP. We encourage first generation and multicultural students to attend, but all are invited. We will help students fill out FAFSA and apply to the U of I, plus we will have a free dinner.
§ Three locations in this area:
· Nov 6 at Capital High School, 6-9pm
· Nov 11 at Fruitland High School, 6-9pm
· Nov 12 at Vallivue High School, 6-9pm
§ Idaho Central Credit Union is giving away four $500 scholarship at each Avanza event. Come prepared for an interview. Winners will be announced at the end of each event.
o Meet the Vandals – Nov 19, Boise: https://www.uidaho.edu/events/meet-the-vandals
§ We are bringing the best of the University of Idaho to Boise! It is a fun-filled evening where students get to meet other Vandals-to-be in their area, and find out more about what it means to be a part of the Vandal Family. We will have sessions and answer questions students and families have about applying, financial aid, majors, career outcomes, etc.

VCS Dual Credit Classes OPEN for registration this FALL:
BSU: Biology (year long), Chemistry (year long), Health (fall semester), Engineering 100 (fall semester)
CWI: English (ENGL175 fall), Physical Education (fall), Western Civilization (fall), US History (fall)
NNU: Crossfit (year), Weightlifting (year), Economics (fall), Environmental Science (year)
All other DC classes will be open in SPRING for registration
Registration ENDS: 9/27/19
Dr. Dowski will visit advisories and classrooms to assist in dual credit registration
DIRECTIONS HERE FOR DUAL CREDIT REGISTRATION AND ADVANCED OPP FUNDING
When registering for DC classes, you MUST also request your Fast Forward (Advanced Opportunities) funding at the SAME time. Credit costs have increased to $75/credit
Students taking classes on campus or on-line from CWI must request FF funding!!!
Students taking IDLA DC classes must register for the class and request FF funding!!!

For students taking classes at CWI or TVCC and would like assistance with online fees, textbook costs, etc. (anything but tuition)
Vision Charter School Scholarship for Dual Credit Course Fees, Supplies, & Textbooks
This year, VCS will be offering scholarships to assist students with payment of books and fees associated with their college classes that are being taken directly from colleges or through IDLA. Summer 2019 scholarships are due to main office by 8/31/19. Fall 2019 scholarships are DUE to the main office by 9/15/19. ALL students are encouraged to apply. NEW** All textbooks purchased through the scholarship program will become property of VCS and available to future students through the library for check-out. The SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION is available at the main office or here.
